We have a heart for serving the medically underserved in Ecuador.  If YOU do to, here are ways that you can get involved!

  1. Donate your time as a short-term or long-term volunteer for Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Midwives, Doctors and Dentists.
  2. Donate supplies-the clinics are always looking for materials to help keep them supplied or financial means to purchase supplies in Ecuador.
  3. Tell your medical colleagues and bring down a team of volunteers.

ABOUT OUR CLINICS

The Medical Clinics will be a ministry of local Covenant congregations that see them as a way to reach out and help the people in the area, so they will be an outreach ministry of the local church.  There is a three step process that the clinics will follow as they begin to service the medically underserved and grow in the scope of their ministry.

Step 1

The first step for the Medical Clinics is to provide medical care for the children in the homes, as well as the at risk children that are a part of the ministries of the partner churches.  These will include sick visits and physical exams, as well as providing vaccines.

Step 2

The second step for the clinics would be to open up to the public.  They will provide affordable health care for the medically underprivileged in the community who would not be able to access health care otherwise.  The care provided will not be completely free but the costs will be minimal so that no one is excluded from the opportunity to receive medical care.

Step 3

The final step for the clinics will be to expand their scope to the areas around it that have no medicine at all.  With the first clinic in Cayambe, it will be able to provide medical caravans that go up into the mountains that surround Cayambe and reach people that have never received any health care.  Also a part of this step is to begin ministering to the surrounding community through education.  Providing the basics in nutrition, hygiene and child care can be the most powerful ministry of the clinic in that so many medical difficulties can be prevented by education.
