Santiago Children’s Home

In our loving and nurturing home, we provide shelter, education, and emotional support to children and youth who have faced the challenges of poverty, abandonment, or abuse. Your contribution helps us maintain a safe and caring environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive. Our home surrounds children with love and stability as we work to reunite them with their biological families, if healthy to do so.

We are unique in that we do not offer traditional child sponsorships. It is one of our deepest desires to ruthlessly protect the children's privacy as well as the privacy of their families.

As an alternative to sponsoring a child, we would love for you to consider sponsoring: One Day in Ecuador. Just $24 a month will provide a child’s care for a Day in the Home. CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE.

One Day in Ecuador: Santiago Children’s Home

Since its 2017 establishment, our children’s home in Cayambe has welcomed more than 173 children into a safe and loving environment. Of these, 90 have been successfully reunited with their families—a core goal that aligns with international standards set by UNICEF.

Our professional, family-style care workers live in the homes with the children as their “foster parents.” They are supported by a dedicated team of social workers, psychologists, medical professionals, and legal advocates who ensure every child’s needs are met, whether that means providing daily meals and transportation or guiding them through trauma recovery and grief counseling.

Together with our trusted partners, this team supports not only the children but also their families and the broader community.

Each child who comes to us brings a story of loss, but also of hope for a brighter future. At any given time, our home in Cayambe cares for 20 to 25 children, helping them heal and restoring their sense of stability. Looking ahead, we hope to expand by opening similar homes in nearby communities. This work and vision is made possible through the administration of F.A.C.E., the support of I.P.E.E. and local churches, and the generosity of individuals like you. Our long-term goal is to make each home financially self-sustaining through the creation of micro-enterprises that will generate revenue and cover expenses.

The transformation happening here is profound, and we love sharing stories of hope and growth. At the same time, our first priority is respecting the privacy and dignity of our children and their families. While we share real stories and authentic photos of our staff and facilities, we change names and often use child actors in photographs intended for public sharing.

Here are just a few of the ways our home has made a difference in the lives of Ecuadorian children: Enter Stories of Dignity link to blog? Recent job training exposure, etc here.
