Bethel University Visits

The Bethel University team wrapped up a powerful three‑day medical caravan that reached 251 patients, each with a story, a need, and a moment of connection. Over three unforgettable days, the team witnessed something extraordinary: the power of showing up.

InIbarra, 84 patients were seen—each one a reminder of why compassionate healthcare matters. In Cayambe, 91more welcomed the team into their neighborhood, trusting them with their stories and their well-being. And at the Santiago Children’s Home, 76 children and caregivers received care that went far beyond medical charts.

Patients ranged from infants to elders, each one carrying their own challenges and hopes. The team offered treatment, but also encouragement, presence, and dignity—core values at the heart of every service mission. Across all three days, 80 of the patients were indigenous, representing communities that often experience the greatest gaps in care. The team’s presence offered not only medical attention but dignity, respect, and hope.

This caravan wasn’t just about numbers. It was about connection. It was about stepping into communities, listening deeply, and offering care that honors every person’s worth. And it was about learning—learning that healing is a shared journey, and that even brief encounters can leave a lifelong impact. Healing happens not only through medicine, but through presence, compassion, and shared humanity.
