The Gift of a Normal Childhood Day
Your support as a One Day in Ecuador partner helps the home offer the most precious gift: normal, everyday childhood experiences. Moments that feel simple, but mean everything.
One of those days came when a mission team supported a bounce house, a cotton candy machine, a foam cannon, and fun outdoor games from the States — frisbees, Velcro catch, badminton rackets and balls. The yard transformed into a festival of laughter.
The kids took turns jumping in the bounce house and flying down the slide, shouting “watch me, watch me!” with every leap. But the foam cannon stole the show — blasting clouds of foam into the air and across the lawn. The kids dove in like it was a swimming pool, disappearing under the bubbles, sneaking up on each other, pulling friends into the chaos. Then they came for us, one by one, dragging team members into the foam while laughing the entire way.
Before the foam cannon erupted, everyone paused for cotton candy. One little girl stood behind the machine, catching stray pieces floating through the air as if it were her own game.
These are the moments your support makes possible — childhood joy, shared laughter, and memories that stay with them long after the foam settles.
And if you want to help create more days like this, you can become a monthly donor to One Day in Ecuador. Monthly giving provides stability, consistency, and the resources needed to offer these everyday experiences that help our kids feel seen, valued, and loved.
