Coshocton Mission Team

A team of 26 members from Coshocton Christian Tabernacle in Coshocton, Ohio, descended on Cayambe in July. They not only created a full Vacation Bible School for the kids at the Children’s Home, but also participated in a Minga to continue work on the Forever Flowers Business Center, visited Forever Flowers, and attended workshops with our staff.

The mission team from Cochocton filled their week in Ecuador with service, joy, creativity, and deep connection with the children. One of the most unforgettable moments was the day spent in the Cloud Forest of Mindo. The children enjoyed meals, nature, and new experiences—zip‑lining through the trees, visiting a chocolate factory, and watching butterflies dance around them. It wasn’t just an outing; it was a chance to create happy memories and share meaningful time with each child, walking beside them, caring for them, and celebrating the wonder in their eyes.

Back at the Children’s Home, the team transformed the entire space into a tropical jungle. Large fabrics with Amazon‑inspired artwork, waterfalls, tropical animals, and birds filled the rooms, and beautiful costumes completed the experience. The children stepped into a world of surprise and excitement, their smiles growing with every detail the team had prepared.

The home was alive with movement and laughter. Choreography, games, crafts, and Bible‑reading stations filled the day, with the mission team organizing into small groups to connect with the children in a personal, interactive way. Every station became a moment to learn, play, and feel seen.

Creativity flowed everywhere. Hundreds of balloons were twisted into animal figures, and the children created, imagined, and discovered new skills as they played. They also prepared and decorated delicious desserts, enjoying not only the sweet results but the joy of making something together with their own hands.

Their imaginations had no limits. The children designed unique and spectacular hats using different materials, colors, and fabric stickers. Each hat reflected their personality, their creativity, and the freedom they felt to express themselves.

One of the most meaningful moments was learning about the Gospel through colors. Each color represented a part of the message of salvation, turning a spiritual lesson into something visual, interactive, and unforgettable. It became a way for the children to understand faith with their eyes, their hands, and their hearts.

One week, many smiles, countless memories, and hearts transformed — that’s exactly what this summer in Cayambe felt like. It wasn’t just about activities or schedules; it was about the way the children laughed, the way the teams connected with them, and how simple moments became unforgettable. It was a week where joy showed up in small details, creativity filled every corner, and love was expressed through presence, patience, and shared time. It reminded us that when people come together with open hearts, transformation happens quietly and beautifully, in ways that stay with us long after the week is over.
