Significance of the Stones Used by SUMAK

Turquoise:  power of the connection with the present, providing a soft and fresh energy.  This color is also associated with protection and rehabilitation.

Red:  the Indigenous cosmovision is traditionally associated with the blood spilled by ancestors, the energy, power, earth, conflict, and success.

Deep Red:  signifies kindness, love, and romance

Orange:  represents prosperity and good fortune as well as the attraction to fortune.

Coral:  Symbolizes awareness of the environment, also representing the planet.

Black: from an Indigenous perspective, the color black represents power, depth, mystery, and elegance.  There is also honoring forefathers who were enslaved.

Sky Blue:  Represents stability.  “From the depth of the soul of the indigenous to the order of the sacred,” immortality and power, peace, protection, health, understanding, and generosity.

Deep Blue:  Represents cosmic space and the influence of the earthly world.

Green:  Represents Spring, new birth, regeneration, nature, hope, and fertility.

Blue-Green: the knotted economy, land, and territory.

White:  shows connection to purity, represents time, the process of transformation brought about by intellectual belief and work
