The Forever Flowers are planted!

This week we completed the work of planting all of the roses for the Forever Flowers farm. It was quite the process grafting 45,105 rose stems into the rose base roots. Each base root needed to be prepared ahead of time and then the professional planters would come in complete the grafting process. Here is a video of the grafting process:

We held a Minga (all hands in!) of all of the staff who were available to come and serve on the Forever Flowers farm. We started the day with prayer and short meeting led by our faithful leader, Rolando Escola.

It was amazing to see Doctors next to Psychologists who were next to Social Workers who were next to Dentists all working hand-in-hand to complete this important process for our self-sustainability.

Our new volunteer from the Czech Republic got involved as well as she appreciated a day away from the office:

Here is the whole crew (almost) who were there and even the volcano Cayambe came out to see us as you can see in the background:

This means that we are now finished with the sowing of our first roses. We can finally check that item off our list that we need to complete in order to start selling our Forever Flowers.

There are more pictures from the day at the bottom of this post. Additionally, you can learn more about the Forever Flowers Social Enterprise here. You can also support the Forever Flowers initiative there as well.
