Physical Therapy Caravan

We welcomed volunteers with Compassion Physical Therapy in early April. Compassion Physical Therapy is one of our strategic partnerships. They are based out of Rancho Cucumango, CA and serve medical clinics around the world by partnering with organizations to establish clinics, provide training, equipment and the salaries of local therapists. Together with our Santiago Medical Clinic, a Physical Therapy Caravan was held, serving a total of 52 patients. New patients were treated, receiving diagnostic evaluations, stretching and strengthening exercises, and a free physical therapy session. Future sessions with our physical therapist were scheduled as well. Current patients continued therapies, assessing their progress, proposing new individualized treatment strategies, and strengthening the progress already achieved.

It is so valuable to experience this exchange of knowledge and practices between the Compassion Physical Therapy team and our physical therapist, Yessenia. Collaboration enriches the therapeutic approach and fosters both a professional and cultural strengthening between both teams.

We deeply appreciate the commitment and support provided by Compassion Physical Therapy. Their willingness to collaborate allows us to continue providing physical therapy services to the vulnerable population in Cayambe, promoting comprehensive, high-quality care for those who need it most.

Read what Compassion Physical Therapy had to say about their visit to see Yessenia and the clinic.

Yessenia’s Testimony…..

“God’s timing is perfect.” -Psalm 135:13-21

“For a long time, I have eagerly awaited the visit from the Compassion Physical Therapy board of directors, and finally, I had the privilege of meeting them in person. This experience allowed me to provide direct care and assistance to the most vulnerable population, who, due to economic hardship, lack access to healtcare.

I feel deeply blessed and grateful for the opportunity to have shared valuable moments with people who share my vocation to help. During their visit, we were able to exchange clinical experiences, update treatment techniques, and strengthen our knowledge, which will be of great benefit to providing quality care to each of my patients.

I want to again offer my sincere gratitude for the generous donation of equipment and supplies to the Santiago Medical Center. These resources will be of great help to those most in need and will make a significant difference in our daily work.

Although their stay in Ecuador was brief, the knowledge shared will remain with me forever. I will diligently apply every lesson I have learned. I will remember your methods of evaluation, your commitment, and above all, your great vocation for service.”
