National Volunteer Week: Honoring the Hands and Hearts that Serve

As we celebrate National Volunteer Week (April 20–24), we pause to honor the people who make our work possible: our volunteers. Your generosity, your time, and your willingness to show up for others create a ripple effect that reaches far beyond what any of us can see.

Every hour you give, every task you take on, and every moment you spend supporting our mission reflects a spirit of compassion that strengthens our entire community. You bring warmth where it’s needed, hope where it’s missing, and encouragement when it matters most.

You don’t do it for recognition. You don’t do it for applause. You do it because you care—and that is what makes your impact extraordinary.

This week, and every week, we celebrate you:

  • Our board members, Erica Liebelt, Tim Eberhard, Meghan Loser, Michael Poindexter, and Julie Volpe, show up each month to guide our work with wisdom and dedication.

  • Our accountant, Angie Eberhard, devotes her time each week to keeping our finances organized and running smoothly.

  • Our donation receptionist, Janae Stevens, faithfully receives all mailed donations and prepares each deposit with care and accuracy.

  • Partners like Natasha Westerhoud, who offer steadfast support and meaningful service across Canada.

  • Supporters like Sabrina Price, who generously gives her time to help with the countless details that keep us moving forward.

  • Our donors, who believe deeply in the power of service and invest in our mission with generosity and trust.

Your dedication shapes lives. Your presence makes a difference. Your heart leaves a legacy.

From Joel, Kim, and Jessica - our hearts are full as we reflect on the incredible people who make this work possible. THANK YOU for giving your time, your energy, and your compassion so freely. Your commitment strengthens our mission, lifts our community, and reminds us what is possible when people choose to serve with love. We are better—stronger, kinder, and more hopeful—because of you.
